Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as a Sr. Principal Traffic Administrator based out of Baltimore, MD.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Plan, schedule, and route inbound and outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of postal regulations, tariffs, and company policy
Schedule with carriers, reconcile freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select or recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely, and least expensive movement of goods and material
Conducts research on transportation methods, rates, and routes
Develop programs to audit and monitor carrier rates and charges and evaluate past performance and cost of transportation
Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards. Considered expert in field within the organization
Demonstrate the skill and ability to perform complex tasks
Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings
Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation
Ensure solutions are consistent with organization objectives
Perform complex assignments independently without appreciable direction
Exercise considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignment
Serve as a consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives
Act as an advisor to senior management and customers, including quality and DCMA
Provide training and guidance to shipping office and shipping floor personnel
Access management of secured storage
Lead POC for shipping area audits and corrective actions
Report and present area metrics, providing analysis of trends and recommendations for improvement
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience in U.S. Government, commercial, and/or international shipping coordination; Master’s degree with 6 years of experience in U.S. Government, commercial, and/or international shipping coordination
Experience with & access to USG WAWF and SIRs
Experience using SAP or similar Manufacturing Execution System
Experience with MS SharePoint platform planner, workflow management, and MS Office Suite
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance (s)

Primary Level Salary Range: $102,000.00 - $153,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
