Job Description:
Coming soon to the Las Vegas Strip, Hard Rock Las Vegas will be a fully integrated luxury resort offering world-class hospitality, gaming, dining, entertainment and retail. Positioned on the 50-yard line of the Strip, the resort will feature a nearly 700 ft. guitar-shaped hotel that will change the Las Vegas skyline. The finished complex will feature over 3,700 hotel rooms, approximately 175,000 square feet of gaming space, two spas, multiple pools, live entertainment venues and dozens of restaurants, lounges and retail outlets.
JOB SUMMARY
The National Sales Manager, under the direction of the Executive Director of Sales, is responsible for identifying, developing, and contracting new and repeat convention business out of a designated regional market. This role will require knowledge and relationships with key accounts in these markets, including corporate companies, associations, and third-party agencies and the associated key influences and decision makers within those organizations. The National Sales Manager will prospect new accounts and conventions out of the designated market, organize and plan sales calls in the assigned market, and attend various tradeshows/conferences with the goal of contracting business for Hard Rock Las Vegas. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices, and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and execute a strategic sales action plan for the assigned territory to generate new and repeat group business, achieve or exceed revenue and room night goals, and support overall property financial objectives.
- Proactively solicit, research, qualify, and develop business opportunities across existing and prospective target accounts through phone and virtual outreach, outside sales calls, social selling, trade shows, conferences, networking events, entertainment, and related sales travel.
- Manage assigned leads and accounts through timely follow-up, strategic qualification, and consistent relationship-building with corporate purchasers, planners, buyers, and other key meeting influencers to move opportunities through the sales cycle and secure favorable outcomes.
- Negotiate sales contracts, pricing, concessions, and business terms in alignment with company guidelines and financial objectives while positioning the property’s value proposition and competitive advantages to prospective clients.
- Maintain deep knowledge of customer buying processes, market dynamics, economic and industry trends, regulatory considerations, and emerging business opportunities within assigned market segments to strengthen prospecting and conversion efforts.
- Accurately prepare and maintain proposals, contracts, files, account records, CRM activity, booking data, sales reports, and pipeline forecasts in accordance with departmental standards and established sales processes.
- Collaborate regularly with Convention Services, Catering, Hotel Operations, and other cross-functional partners to understand available products and services, support seamless execution, and deliver exceptional guest and client experiences.
- Travel and represent the property at sales calls, site inspections, trade shows, conferences, community events, networking functions, and training programs, including participation during evenings and weekends as business needs require.
- Support departmental and property leadership through special projects, participation in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and development of team members as assigned, while promoting company values and professional standards.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, mission, and values; maintain a safe and professional work environment; promote positive public and employee relations; support responsible gaming and alcohol service practices; and promptly report compliance, ethics, or safety concerns to leadership.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years of professional hotel sales experience in complex group business, preferably in a luxury property.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and managing national corporate accounts.
- Extensive knowledge and network of the accounts and contacts located in the assigned territory.
- Demonstrated proficiency in contract negotiations, including structuring terms, pricing, concessions, and contractual language to secure group business while protecting company interests and achieving financial objectives.
- Strong understanding of corporate and group sales principles.
- Proficiency in sales CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong skills in customer relations, presentations, problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, time management, and organization, with the ability to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations and interact professionally with diverse clients and internal teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, poise, and guest service excellence in a fast‑paced environment.
- Requires evenings and weekend travel and networking.
Work Environment:
- Duties and responsibilities are typically performed in a professional office setting with the need for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call support during critical system events. Also, there may be times where you will need to be in a hotel and/or casino environment, which can be fast-paced with excessive noise and exposure to the general public and secondhand smoke.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
