SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:  Teacher aides to substitute on an as needed basis to cover daily Paraprofessional staff absences. Under the direction of the certified staff member/team to which they are assigned, assist students with special needs that may include behavioral and/or emotional needs throughout the day with academics and daily school activities.  Will assist the students in following a strict schedule and diapering needs.  Aid the students and teacher to ensure the success of students meeting their IEP goals.
 
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:  MUST hold a valid Illinois ELS (Paraprofessional) license or Professional Educator License (PEL).  Applicant must be physically able to assist student throughout the building. Basic math and computer skills as well as some general office skills are needed. Experience with special needs children preferred. Good written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of staff, parents and students.
