Position Summary:
The Seasonal Internship position at Grand Canyon Resort Corporation is responsible for assisting the department(s) to which they are assigned with various business-relevant duties and tasks. This may include filing, generating and maintaining spreadsheets, PowerPoints, documents, and other electronic and physical administrative items, interacting with and assisting guests and team members, inventory control, technical support, marketing and advertising, hotel and housekeeping administration, property management assistance, F&B administrative tasks, business operations, and other related items. Some travel to various business locations may be required, on occasion.

Duties & Responsibilities:
1.      Arrive to work on time as scheduled, with reasonable flexibility to adjust scheduled work days and times on occasion.
2.      Maintain a positive, professional demeanor at all times, with guests, team members, vendors, and the community.
3.      Perform various tasks and assignments, which will depend on the department(s) to which the Intern has been assigned.
4.      Show initiative and be self-motivated. Ask for assistance when appropriate.
5.      Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
 
Knowledge and Abilities:
1.      Strong demonstrated ability to utilize all software within the Microsoft Office suite.
2.      Experience working with Native American corporations and vendors preferred.
3.      Ability to communicate effectively in a clear concise manner, both orally and in writing.
4.      Ability to effectively interact with internal team members, as well as external guests and vendors.
5.      Ability to use all forms of office technology, including computer and business software.
6.      Ability to analyze reports to maintain efficiencies and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
7.      Good mathematical and analytical skills.
8.      Ability to work in a team environment, multi-task efficiently and maintain positive working relationships.
 
Qualifications:
1.      Currently enrolled in a two or four-year accredited college or university, studying a major which includes an internship requirement. Documentation of internship requirements must be provided.
2.      Possess two forms of valid government-issued identification.
3.      Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
 
Working Conditions:
Primarily high-volume Resort operations, as well as office environment. Must be able to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to stand, sit, bend, type, and walk for extended periods. This position may also occasionally be exposed to harsh elements, including extreme heat, cold, sun, wind, rain, snow. Must be able to conduct themselves professionally and tactfully with co-workers and guests, including during situations where other individuals may be upset or angry. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
