IT Operations Manager (Subic Bay, Philippines)

The IT Operations Manager oversees and directs the day-to-day activities of an organization’s information technology (IT) department, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. This position will lead the team that develop and implement networks and servers, respond to user help desk requests, and monitor system stability and performance.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Monitor Company’s servers, networks, and computer systems for irregularities and performance issues to determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades
• Develop IT policies and procedures to ensure that the department operates effectively and reliably
• Direct user support by handling help desk or service desk escalations
• Assesses department and business needs related to equipment and services and coordinates with vendors
• Support IT department activities while upgrading systems and servers and migrating the organization’s data. Introduce new methods to streamline the upgrade process, monitor the system to ensure that it remains stable and usable, and maintain data security through the migration process.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

 

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or other relevant field
• At least 10 years handling IT operations, 5 years of which in a leadership role
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
• Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to lead and mentor others
• Knowledgeable on budget management
• Experience with system installation, configuration and analysis
• Strong knowledge of networks, cloud computing, data protection operations and legislation (e.g. GDPR)
• Strong working knowledge of Office 365, project management tools and Microsoft technology

 

Work Location: Subic Bay Freeport Zone, Zambales
