Description
**THIS IS A SUMMER SCHOOL POSITION. EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY**
- Address unfinished learning from SY25-26 and increase academic achievement.
- Develop student socio-emotional skills and increase student efficacy by building skills and competencies - paying careful attention to any additional social-emotional needs created by the pandemic
- Strengthen the effectiveness of school-community partnerships; and
- Promote student health and wellness.
- Work all 20 days of the program and participate in relevant PD days. PD dates will take place outside of school hours. Each day will consist of 5 hours’ on-site delivery of lessons and preparation. This will also include support during non-academic hours and activities. Schedule will be approximately 8 am to 1 pm.
- Plan lessons to prepare for rigorous instruction and conduct appropriate assessments.
- All teachers must commit to attending and participating in training and other activities for up to 20 hours per summer. These include (but are not limited to) training and set up, EEC Essentials training, and summer graduation ceremony.
- Program Weeks – Monday, July 7 to Thursday, August 7, 2025
- Professional Development of approximately 15 hours
- Graduation Ceremony
- Other training and or expected attendance requirements activities.
- Teachers will be paid $50 per hour with a maximum summer salary of $6000 (inclusive of on-site delivery and training, etc.). Any missed hours will cause an adjustment of salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare for designed demanding lessons, assignments, and enrichment activities which may require some planning work outside regular 5-hour daily program hours.
- Differentiate instruction so that all students complete rigorous academic work.
- Establish a productive learning environment and classroom culture in which all students are respected. This includes forming a collaborative partnership with peer camp counselors working with you in your classroom.
- Work with the site coordinator to maintain timely student attendance and assessments.
- Work with site coordinator and other program staff to ensure all outcome goals are on track to be met, including academic outcomes and social-emotional skill development outcomes.
- Oversee classroom management.
- Care for program materials and resources.
- Perform other related duties as requested.
Qualifications (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Massachusetts teaching license in the appropriate area.
- At least 1 year of formal teaching experience.
- Experience with working with a diverse population of students, especially historically marginalized student groups, such as Black and brown students, students with disabilities, and English Language Learners.
- A fierce commitment to equity.
- Willing to work in close collaboration with a non-profit with shared goals in a student-centered, school-aligned, results-focused initiative.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
