Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Oversees thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations and synthesizes all information to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administers therapeutic exercises and other interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
- Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.
- Collaborates with others in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care.
- Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions so that treatment plans can be adjusted as needed.
- Collaborates on teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
- Is a subject matter expert and leads clinical practice in specified area and keeps abreast of evidence-based practices and presents information for considerations and incorporation into practice.
- Leads programs/projects related to specified area.
- Works with team to delegate appropriate patients/tasks to other team members to free self for professional duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
Experience
- Required: 6 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
