Responsible for breaking, scoring, burning continuous sheets of glass into specific lengths
Cuts flat glass either by hand or through the operation of a machine to specified size and shape by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Positions pattern on glass or measures dimensions and marks cutting lines
Scribes around pattern or along straightedge
Breaks away excess glass by hand or with notched tool or glass pinchers
Smooths and sands rough edges
Tables large, heavy sheets of glass
Grinds, polishes, seams, and bevels glass, as directed
Transports product and helps to unload raw product
Ensures that equipment used is operable and maintained in working order
Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures
Able to work overtime as business needs require

Less than high school education Or up to one month related experience or training Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Frequently exposed to extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration
Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock
Routinely exposed to hazardous noise levels
