POSITION:         IDEA SCD ASSISTANT TEACHER-PARAPROFESSIONAL
     (IDEA=Individuals with Disabilities Education Act)
                                 (SCD=Significant Cognitively Disabled)

COMMENCING DATE:      IMMEDIATELY

QUALIFICATIONS: 

1. Hold an Associate Degree or higher or;
2. Two Years or 48 College Credit Hours (Transcripts Verification Required) or;
3. High School Diploma/GED and the ACT WorkKeys Silver Level Certification requirements - Applied Mathematics, score of 4, Graphic Literacy, score of 4 and Workplace Documents, score of 4.
4. Interpersonal skills in working with students, professional colleagues, administration, parents, and community
5. Strong written and oral communication skills: grammar, spelling, punctuation
6. Good physical condition with ability to lift 50 pounds

JOB DESCRIPTION: Assist the teacher in maintaining appropriate classroom activities and enhance student learning.

SALARY: Commensurate with the Ocean Springs salary schedule for classified positions for the 2026-2027 school year.
