Job Description

What you’ll do:

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry. 

The incumbent will be responsible for designing, industrializing, standardizing, and continuously improving robust manufacturing processes for gear and shaft components, ensuring safety, quality, delivery, cost, and compliance (SQDC) objectives are met in line with Eaton requirements.

1.    Designs and establishes end-to-end manufacturing processes for gear and shaft components including turning, hobbing, shaping, grinding, and finishing operations.
2.    Develops and maintains Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and Control Plans specific to gear and shaft manufacturing.
3.    Analyzes and improves process capability (Cp/Cpk) for critical characteristics such as gear profile, lead, runout, concentricity, hardness, and surface finish.
4.    Creates, reviews, and controls standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure process standardization
5.    Implements and validates error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) solutions to prevent manufacturing defects.
6.    Coordinates and supports heat treatment processes including pre-HT and post-HT controls.
7.    Plans and executes process validations, trial runs, and Run@Rate activities.
8.    Manages engineering changes (ECN/PCN) ensuring controlled implementation and documentation updates.
9.    Conducts process risk assessments and supports EHS compliance for machining and grinding operations.
10.    Leads continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
11.    Coordinates with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams.
12.    Maintains manufacturing engineering records and metrics for audits and reviews.

Qualifications:

• BE / BTech – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 8 years experience OR
• Diploma – Mechanical or Production Engineering with minimum 11 years experience

Skills:

Strong knowledge of gear and shaft manufacturing processes including CNC turning, hobbing, shaping, grinding, inspection, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, heat treatment coordination, and IATF 16949 compliance.
