Job Profile

Position details

The Senior Network Engineer will lead the design, implementation, and support of enterprise and data centre network solutions, with Cisco ACI as the primary skillset. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong experience delivering ACI designs, production implementations, migrations, and complex troubleshooting in large enterprise environments.

We are looking for an ACI-focused network engineer who can translate design into production, solve complex issues quickly, and partner effectively across infrastructure and application teams. The successful candidate will bring strong delivery ownership, operational judgment, and the ability to work across both change and BAU support.

Roles and Responsibilities

This role requires strong real-world experience in Cisco ACI design, implementation, and troubleshooting.

  • Design and Delivery: Lead the design and delivery of Cisco ACI-based data centre solutions, including fabric architecture, policy design, and integration with enterprise network services.
  • Implementation and Migration: Deliver hands-on ACI implementations, migrations, and production changes with strong planning, testing, and execution discipline.
  • Troubleshooting and Operations: Resolve complex ACI and data centre network issues, support production stability, and drive ongoing optimization across the environment.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with security, server, cloud, virtualization, and application teams to deliver resilient, secure, and supportable network solutions.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the ACI subject matter expert, providing design guidance, root cause analysis, and support to project and operations teams.

Technical Capabilities

Cisco ACI Design and Implementation:

·         Strong hands-on experience designing and deploying Cisco ACI fabrics in enterprise data centre environments.

·         Proven implementation experience covering new builds, migrations, policy changes, and production support.

·         Strong troubleshooting skills across ACI policy, routing, fabric health, and application connectivity.

·         Working knowledge of routing and switching, VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, security integration, virtualization, and connectivity.

Develop and Maintain Network Policies, Standards, and Procedures:

  • Develop network policies that outline the organization's objectives and requirements.
  • Establish industry standards and procedures for configuring and managing network devices.
  • Ensure that network policies, standards, and procedures are up to date and align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Contribute into Risk Assessments and Security Audits:

  • Participate in regular risk assessments to identify potential network vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Contribute to network audits to assess the effectiveness of existing network controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recommend network enhancements based on the findings of risk assessments and audits.

Collaborate with IT Teams:

  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate requirements into network infrastructure and applications.
  • Provide guidance on implementing best practices and standards.
  • Collaborate with application developers and system administrators to ensure that business requirements are met.

Enhance Network Traffic Monitoring and Innovate Automations:

  • Enhance network traffic monitoring to effectively detect issues
  • Take appropriate actions to mitigate the impact of incidents and prevent future occurrences.
  • Look for predictive analysis/solutions

Provide Technical Guidance and Support:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to IT teams on network best practices.
  • Assist in troubleshooting network Problems and coming up with solutions to address them.
  • In-depth insight and oversight on
    • Networking Protocols: Expertise in IP networking protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, IPsec, TCP/IP, QoS) and related technologies.
    • Cloud Networking: Hands-on experience with cloud networking in platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, including hybrid cloud designs and integrations.
    • Network Automation: Knowledge of network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting, Terraform) to automate configuration, deployment, and management processes.
    • Virtualization: Experience with network virtualization technologies such as SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization).
    • Network Monitoring: Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Netscout, Wireshark ) for performance and anomaly detection.
    • Data Center Architecture: In-depth understanding of data center networking (e.g., spine-leaf, fabric architectures) and cloud connectivity, ACI

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 10+ years in enterprise networking, including strong recent hands-on Cisco ACI design, implementation, and troubleshooting experience in data centre environments.
  • Core Skillset: Cisco ACI is the primary must-have skill, supported by strong data centre networking, routing and switching, and network integration experience.
  • Certifications: CCNP Data Center, Cisco ACI specialist certification, or CCIE preferred.
  • Delivery: Able to own designs, lead implementations, manage production changes, and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Troubleshooting: Able to perform root cause analysis and resolve complex ACI and data centre network issues in production.
  • Project Exposure: Experience delivering infrastructure projects, migrations, and controlled production changes end to end.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Master’s Degree (Preferred): An advanced degree in a relevant field is a plus, particularly in network architecture, cybersecurity, or cloud technologies.
  • CCIE or related professional certification is preferred.
