Senior Interaction Designer

About the role:
As a Senior Interaction Designer, you will drive the design of digital interfaces and interactive experiences for Electrolux products — from on device UI to mobile applications and embedded displays. You will translate our global Design Identity into consistent, on brand visual systems, including icons, components, and interaction patterns. Beyond execution, you will act as the team’s eyes and ears in the market, providing timely insights and forward looking perspectives to inform global design strategy.
You will own projects from concept to implementation, balancing independent craft with close collaboration across design, hardware, and software teams.
What you’ll do:
Design Execution & Brand Alignment
- Create intuitive, aesthetically coherent UI designs and iconography that reflect and evolve the Electrolux Design Identity.
- Translate high level design direction into detailed interaction flows, prototypes, and production ready assets.
- Ensure consistency across touchpoints by maintaining and contributing to our global design system.
- Collaborate with UX researchers, visual designers, and developers to deliver polished, user validated experiences.
Market Insight & Strategic Input
- Continuously monitor interaction design trends, emerging technologies, and competitor offerings in the appliance and digital product space.
- Synthesize market and user insights into clear, actionable recommendations for the global design team.
- Present thought out perspectives on how new interaction paradigms could enhance our product experiences and brand perception.
- Help the team stay ahead by sharing relevant research, case studies, and inspiration.
Project Leadership & Facilitation
- Lead interaction design for projects, managing your own timeline and deliverables within broader product milestones.
- Facilitate workshops and design reviews, encouraging open critique and collaborative problem solving.
- Guide and mentor junior designers, fostering skill development and design thinking maturity within the team.
- Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders across disciplines, adapting your style to suit technical, creative, and business audiences.
Cross functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with industrial designers, CMF designers, and engineers to ensure seamless integration of digital and physical experiences.
- Work with software development teams to ensure feasible implementation and pixel perfect final execution.
- Build strong relationships with product owners, and other stakeholders to align on goals and outcomes.
Who you are:
Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of professional interaction design experience, with a portfolio showcasing shipped products in consumer electronics, appliances, or related fields.
- Expertise in UI design, icon design, prototyping, and design system development.
- High proficiency in relevant programs and tools
- Solid understanding of user centered design methodologies and responsive/adaptive design principles.
- Experience working with hardware integrated interfaces or IoT products is a strong plus.
- Awards, patents, or published work in interaction design are valued.
Strategic & Analytical Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy into tangible interface design solutions.
- Strong market sensitivity and the ability to distill trends into strategic design insights.
- Comfortable contributing to design strategy discussions and road mapping at the project or product line level.
Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
- Able to present design concepts persuasively and document decisions clearly.
- Experienced in building relationships across teams and influencing without direct authority.
- A facilitative mindset—you listen actively, give and receive feedback constructively, and help teams move forward together.
