Engineer, II Software

Primary Position Purpose: The Software Engineer II role is responsible for building the tools that power our freight platform. The Engineer II has a passion for tackling hard problems. A veteran who knows how to get things done and how-to future-proof our architecture and implementations to scale for years to come. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the definition, vision, design, roadmap, and development of all systems at U.S. Xpress. Position Functions: · Design, implement, test, deploy and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, durability, cost, and security. · Own the development lifecycle with a focus on developing new features and functionalities for assigned software applications. · Use software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables. · Write high quality distributed system software. · Work in an agile development environment, always working on the most important projects. · Collaborate with other teams and across departments to deliver new features and products.
