Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform routine lubrication services on stationary mining equipment including conveyors, crushers, pumps, and support equipment.
- Inspect equipment for proper lubricant levels, leaks, contamination, wear, and abnormal operating conditions.
- Maintain and follow preventative maintenance lubrication schedules and procedures.
- Collect and document oil, grease, and fluid samples for analysis and reporting.
- Operate lubrication pumps, grease systems, and related service equipment safely and effectively.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, labeling, and disposal of lubricants and hazardous materials in accordance with environmental and company standards.
- Monitor and maintain automatic lubrication systems.
- Assist maintenance teams with equipment shutdowns, repairs, and servicing activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and work orders using company maintenance systems.
- Identify and report equipment issues, safety concerns, and opportunities for reliability improvement.
- Maintain clean work areas, service vehicles, and lubrication equipment.
- Follow all MSHA regulations, site safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in industrial, heavy equipment, or mining lubrication preferred.
- Basic knowledge of lubrication principles, contamination control, and preventative maintenance practices.
- Experience working with heavy mining equipment and industrial machinery preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service schedules, and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts, or holidays as needed.
- Maybe required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation.
Physical Demands:
To be eligible for this position, an individual must possess the following requirements to perform the essential job functions:
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to safely enter and exit heavy equipment multiple times per shift.
- Ability to work in outdoor environments exposed to dust, noise, vibration, and changing weather conditions.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
- Able to operate a telephone and mine phone/radio with sufficient voice and hearing to carry on a conversation for the purpose of communicating information, to management.
- Ability to hear sufficiently to distinguish various pitches of warning alarms.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s license and be able to operate a light vehicle.
