Job Description

Who We Are:
At Northland, we’re enablers of change, united by our journey to transform the energy sector into the foundation for a sustainable future.

Since our inception, we’ve been early movers in the energy industry, adopting new initiatives that pave the way for communities across the globe and helping forge their path towards a carbon-neutral landscape.

We’re a different kind of independent power producer. As developers, owners and operators who are at the forefront of the energy transition, we’re uniquely positioned to leave a lasting impact in the regions where we operate. We’ve expanded our business across Canada, the United States, Latin America, Europe and Asia to become a global leader, all by bringing together industry experts to find solutions with an entrepreneurial mindset.

While our work powers communities across the globe, Northland is powered by our people.

Our current presence in Poland:

• Offshore Wind: Our Baltic Power offshore wind farm is a joint venture with Orlen, and the most advanced offshore wind project in Poland. With scheduled completion in 2026, Baltic Power will be the first Polish offshore wind farm operating in the Baltic Sea and will generate about 4,000 GWh of zero-emission electricity per year.
• Battery energy storage system (BESS): We acquired two utility-scale BESS projects in Poland in November 2025, totaling 300 MW. Located in the west, the Mieczysławów (200 MW/800 MWh) and Kamionka (100 MW/400 MWh) projects are in the late-stage pre-construction phase.

What You’ll Do:

As Northland’s Country Manager in Poland, you will act as the driving force behind our growth by developing and executing country-level strategies and ensuring the quality and progress of our pipeline in Poland. You’ll also be the spokesperson for Northland in Poland, identifying and building partnerships along with stakeholders, government decision makers and key-influencers. This role will be based in our Warsaw office (4 days per week), with travel as required.

Our "Creating Value that Lasts" strategy is anchored by three core pillars—Deliver, Strengthen, and Grow and focuses on executing existing projects, optimizing the business, and expanding into new markets. You will play a key role across each of these pillars:

DELIVER

  • Monitor asset performance — Track operating asset performance with a focus on cost efficiency and adherence to global standards, policies and procedures.
  • Lead business operations — Oversee delivery and financial performance of non‑major projects in Poland, while partnering with cross‑functional teams on the origination, development and construction of major assets.

STREGTHEN

  • Ensure HSE, risk and compliance excellence — Maintain full compliance with Polish laws and regulations, identify and assess risks, and implement mitigation measures to safeguard operations.
  • Lead the Warsaw office and team — Establish and manage day‑to‑day operations of the Warsaw office, recruiting and developing a high‑performing local team aligned with growth ambitions.

GROW

  • Shape market strategy — Translate local market intelligence into actionable commercial plans that unlock new opportunities, partnerships and long‑term growth in Poland.
  • Support M&A initiatives — Support regional expansion through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, collaborating with Business Development and Finance teams to model returns and prepare investment committee materials.
  • Advance commercial execution — Collaborate with other teams to identify, structure and negotiate PPAs and secure commercial and industrial offtake agreements that strengthen Northland’s commercial position.
  • Expand Northland’s presence — Represent the company at industry events, conferences and trade fairs to strengthen brand visibility and stay ahead of market trends.

Who You Are:

  • Strategic Leadership — You can set a clear country strategy, align teams and partners, and translate global priorities into local execution. This includes long‑range planning, market positioning, and navigating ambiguity.
  • Cross‑functional Collaboration — You build strong relationships across global teams and local partners. You are skilled at influencing without authority and driving alignment across diverse stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Management — You have excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging regulatory bodies, environmental agencies, local communities, and investors.
  • Results Orientation — You have a bias for action, strong ownership mindset, and ability to deliver measurable outcomes in revenue, operations, and partner performance.
  • Cultural Competence in Poland — You understand Poland’s legal, regulatory, political, and cultural context. Able to adapt communication and decision‑making styles to local norms.
  • Change Leadership — You are able to lead transformation, drive adoption of new processes, and maintain team engagement during change.
