2026 and 2027 Associate Position for her Honour Judge Seiden SC

 

Her Honour Judge Seiden SC is seeking expressions of interest to fill the role of Associate in 2026 and 2027. Her Honour is the Deputy President of the New South Wales Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT), where her Honour is the Division Head of the Administrative and Equal Opportunity Division and the Occupational Division. The role will commence late August 2026 and the position will be for one year, with a possibility of renewal for a further year, dependent on suitability, interest and availability.

 

 

Description of Role

 

The Associate’s role is to provide broad and high-level legal and administrative support. The role encompasses assisting her Honour with complex legal research, drafting, in-hearing duties, and general day-to-day administrative tasks. The Associate is the first point of contact between the NCAT Registry and her Honour.

 

Her Honour sits in NCAT in the John Maddison Tower, Sydney.

 

 

Required Skills and Abilities

 

Candidates who apply for the position should be able to demonstrate the following skills and requirements:

 

  • completion of a law degree;
  • an interest in public law, especially administrative law, and advocacy;
  • superior legal reasoning skills
  • superior legal research skills
  • the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and discretion;
  • excellent attention to detail;
  • good interpersonal skills;
  • outstanding organisational skills and an ability to cope under pressure;
  • superior written and oral communication skills; and
  • basic technological skills.
