The Digital Enterprise Architect reporting to Head of Group Architecture will lead the design and governance of Prudential’s enterprise-wide technology architecture. This role ensures that IT systems, platforms, and digital, AI solutions align with Prudential’s strategic goals of modernization, resilience, and customer-centric innovation across the group covering 10+ markets.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture Development
Define long-term enterprise architecture direction with emphasis on platforms, reusable components, Data and AI driven cloud-native design.
Build future-state architecture aligned with Prudential’s business strategy, focusing on convergence, modernization, cost efficiency, Data and AI, and scalability.
Own, define, and continuously evolve the enterprise target architecture for Digital, Traditional AI and Agentic AI solutions across the group.
Define and communicate target-state architecture that delivers measurable business outcomes such as improved customer experience, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
Establish architecture roadmaps that balance short-term delivery with long-term strategic vision.
Translate business strategies into technology outcomes (e.g., faster time-to-market, reduced cost-to-serve, enhanced resilience).
Monitor and report on architecture KPIs (system availability, scalability, interoperability, and cost efficiency).
Ensure architecture decisions directly support Prudential’s digital transformation goals and sustainability commitments.
Achieving business goals by designing, building, and maintaining high calibre solutions according to standards best technologies that meets the current and future needs
Advising on technical solutions, standard integration methodologies and the alignment of business and technology
Preparing and distributing architectural vision, goals, standards, structure, behaviour patterns, models, to all affected stakeholders
Checking conformance to standards and architectural decision and resolving design and architectural conflicts by explaining and justifying design and architectural decisions
Identifying technical risks and problems in the design, implementation and at run-time
Monitoring conformance to design standards and decisions during the implementation
Provide Support for RFPs for Digital Transformation program
Policy & Frameworks
Formulate and enforce Group policies, frameworks, and design standards.
Ensure compliance with security, resilience, and regulatory requirements in financial sector.
Technology Leadership
Acting as a thought leader on emerging digital business models and technologies, articulating the digital future and the enterprise's role in it internally and externally
Drive adoption of digital platforms, APIs, microservices, and data-driven, AI solutions.
Champion adoption of digital platforms, APIs, microservices, and data-driven solutions.
Oversee Solution Architecture function, managing a team of solution architects across multiple domains (applications, data, infrastructure, security).
Provide hands-on oversight of solution designs, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles.
Act as the final escalation point for solution design conflicts, balancing innovation with risk management.
Drive standardization of solution patterns and reusable components across the enterprise.
Partner with delivery teams to ensure solutions are implemented as designed, with clear traceability to business outcomes.
Mentor and develop solution architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Governance & Collaboration
Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure architectural consistency and interoperability.
Ensure all solution designs comply with Prudential’s established enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and technology standards.
Serve as a key member of the Architecture Review Board (ARB), reviewing proposals and providing authoritative guidance.
Escalate and resolve design conflicts, ensuring decisions are transparent and traceable to business outcomes.
Shift governance from being purely compliance-driven to outcome-driven, ensuring architecture decisions deliver measurable results (e.g., reduced operational risk, improved customer experience, cost efficiency).
Define and monitor architecture KPIs that track adherence to governance expectations.
Communicate governance decisions clearly, translating technical standards into business-relevant language.
Oversee all solution designs to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture governance.
Provide pre-approval guidance to solution architects, reducing friction during formal governance reviews.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to solution architects and engineering teams.
Identify gaps in governance processes and propose enhancements to make them more agile and business-aligned.
Introduce reusable solution patterns that simplify compliance with governance expectations.
Regulatory Compliance: Must stay ahead of country regulations.
Legacy Modernization: Balancing innovation with integration of legacy systems.
Cybersecurity Threats: Ensuring resilience against evolving digital risks.
Job Requirement
15-20 years in enterprise architecture, preferably in banking, insurance, or financial services, who is currently working as Enterprise Architect, Digital Architect, Transformation Architect in last 2-5 years.
commitment of min 3 years in previous job in same role, with min 1 year project level engagement.
Strong expertise in:
Hands-on Enterprise TOGAF or similar framework.
Proven leadership in managing architecture teams and delivering enterprise-scale outcomes.
Experience in managing stakeholders.
Outstanding knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes
Experience in proposal writing & responding to proposals to business and management
Should have managed Programs with Global rollouts nature across APAC.
Good grounding in modern data architectures and machine learning concepts Experience
- Min 10 years of Solution Architect experience is required. 2+ years progressive leadership experience in leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs, operating and influencing effectively across the organization and within complex contextsCloud-native composable platforms (Azure, GCP).
Modern Tooling experience like Key cloak, Ping Identity, Dynatrace or similar tools, mobile tools, business Analytics tools for digital platforms.
Enterprise integration (APIs, microservices, Data & AI).
Application Data architecture, analytics, and AI/ML solutions.
Hands-on Experiences building POC, Architecture models, Solution Architecture, Governance
Proven ability to effectively drive people, process and technology change in a dynamic and complex operating environment perhaps through successful delivery of multiple complex, integrated projects
Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing AI, data, and cloud architectures in complex enterprise environments
Significant experience architecting and governing enterprise-scale platforms, ideally involving AI- or data-intensive systems
Strong architectural judgment and comfort making long-term, high-impact design trade-offs.
Solid understanding of event-streaming architectures, platforms and products
Demonstrated understanding of current approaches in DevSecOps
Solid understanding of API design, resource modelling and lifecycle management- Modern multi-cloud solution and integration architectures.
Familiarity with agile program delivery models and agile architecture techniques
Mentor and guide Architects in applying enterprise and AI architecture best practices
Partner with Domain Architect teams to embed Cloud, Security, Risk, Data by design
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Has experience creating Enterprise Strategy and Architecture playbooks using ppt, lucid diagrams at consulting level.
Proven ability to work in and lead multicultural, globally distributed teams.
Experience balancing innovation speed with enterprise constraints such as risk, regulation, cost, and operational stability
Demonstrable integrity, empathy and emotional intelligence.
Ability to set direction and then mobilise the commitment of team individuals
