Reporting to the VP of Global Operations, the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) & Sustainability Manager will act as a key site leader responsible for driving a strong safety-first culture while ensuring full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations across multiple locations. On a typical day, you will combine hands-on engagement on the shop floor with strategic oversight, leading risk assessments, incident prevention programs, and regulatory compliance efforts. You will own and continuously improve core EHS systems, partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities, and play a critical role in advancing sustainability initiatives focused on reducing energy use, waste, and environmental impact. This position also requires leading training and capability building, driving employee engagement in safety initiatives, and providing consistent leadership and standardisation across sites, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
The EHS & Sustainability Manager is a key site leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a world-class Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability (EHS&S) program across Ott’s Fort Collins and Loveland Service operations.
This leader will drive a Zero Harm culture, ensure full compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, and lead site-level sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact and support long-term operational excellence.
This position is part of the Global Operations team located in Fort Collins, CO and will be an On-Site role.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
1. EHS Leadership & Culture
- Champion a safety-first culture where EHS is a core organizational value.
- Lead visible, hands-on engagement on the shop floor to reinforce safe behaviors and EHS standard work
- Drive employee participation in hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and safety improvement initiatives
- Serve as the site expert and advisor on all EHS-related matters
2. Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, and local environmental and safety regulations
- Maintain systems and processes to monitor compliance and proactively address risk
- Lead risk assessments, hazard evaluations, and mitigation planning to prevent injuries
- Serve as the primary interface with regulatory agencies, audits, and city/county inspections
3. Incident Prevention & Investigation
- Implement programs to prevent incidents, injuries, and environmental releases
- Lead thorough investigations with structured root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Develop and track leading and lagging EHS KPIs to drive performance and accountability
- Ensure timely reporting and documentation of incidents
4. EHS Programs & Systems
- Own and continuously improve core EHS programs, including:
- Hazard communication
- PPE and safety compliance
- Ergonomics and industrial hygiene
- Establish standard work, layered audits, and EHS governance processes
- Lead safety committee engagement and program effectiveness
5. Sustainability Strategy & Execution (NEW)
- Execute site-level sustainability strategy aligned with Veralto and Ott priorities
- Lead initiatives to reduce energy consumption, water usage, and waste generation across both sites.
- Drive waste minimization, recycling, and responsible disposal programs
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce emissions and environmental footprint
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Facilities to integrate sustainability into:
- Capital projects
- Equipment selection
- Process improvements
- Owner of tracking and reporting of sustainability KPIs (e.g., energy intensity, waste reduction, emissions)
6. Site Engagement & Daily Management
- Lead safety walks, audits, and Gemba activities with leadership teams
- Integrate EHS and sustainability metrics into Daily Management (DM) systems
- Ensure proactive identification and resolution of EHS and environmental risks
- Embed EHS&S principles into VES / continuous improvement initiatives
7. Training & Capability Building
- Develop and deliver training programs on safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability topics
- Ensure compliance with all required certifications and training standards
- Build organizational capability in EHS and sustainability through coaching and education
8. Multi‑Site Leadership
- Provide leadership and standardization across Fort Collins and Loveland Service sites
- Ensure consistent implementation of EHS&S programs and best practices
- Support site expansion, integration activities, and operational changes with appropriate EHS and sustainability controls
The essential requirements of the job include:
Required
- 5+ years of EHS leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations
- Experience leading safety programs, environmental compliance, and audits
- Proven ability to influence culture and drive cross-functional changes
Preferred
- CSP, CIH, or equivalent certification
- Experience with sustainability / ESG programs in manufacturing
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 experience
- Experience in multi-site operations
- Lean/continuous improvement experience

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $85,000 - $100,000 USD per year. This job is also eligible for Bonus Pay.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
