Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist for a new full‑time, 1‑year fixed‑term contract to support a unionized production-driven industrial manufacturing operation. This role is focused on employee relations, labour relations support, policy interpretation, HR administration, and legislative compliance, with a strong emphasis on practical application of the Employment Standards Act (ESA).
Key Responsibilities
Provide day‑to‑day HR generalist support to management and employees within a unionized industrial manufacturing environment
Interpret and apply collective agreements, company policies, and employment legislation
Support employee relations matters including discipline, attendance management, accommodation, investigations, and grievance support
Administer HR processes such as:
Employee lifecycle transactions (onboarding, role changes, terminations)
Leaves of absence (ESA, WSIB coordination, disability administration support)
Benefits and payroll coordination (data accuracy and escalation, not payroll processing)
Apply Employment Standards Act (ESA) requirements with demonstrated practical judgment
Prepare HR documentation including letters, records, and reports
Ensure accurate record keeping within Ceridian Dayforce and HR systems
Partner with operations and leadership to ensure consistent and compliant HR practices
Support audits, compliance reviews, and internal reporting as required
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of progressive HR Generalist experience within a unionized industrial manufacturing environment
Post‑secondary education in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related field
Strong demonstrated knowledge and application of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA)
Experience supporting employee relations and labour relations activities
High attention to detail with excellent organization and documentation skills
Ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced, operational setting
Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with hourly and salaried employees, supervisors, and leadership
Systems & Technical Skills
Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is highly desirable
Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Comfortable working with HRIS data, reports, and system workflows
Additional Assets
CHRP or working toward a professional HR designation
Experience supporting collective agreement administration and grievances
Compensation: $55,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually
