Overview: This is a fast-paced management position in one of Inovalon’s most critical areas, BigData Analytics. The Senior Manager, Software Engineering requires strong technical capabilities plus an instinctive, problem-solving mentality and experience conceptualizing and creating out-of-the-box solutions. Working in an Agile environment with large datasets and advanced analytics, this position is engaged in continuous optimization and refactoring and promoting an upbeat and effective team environment within the fast-growing IT Healthcare Informatics industry.
Job Responsibilities
Lead, hire and grow a high performing team of software engineers.
Lead delivery of cloud native applications and services working with engineers and peer teams
Partner with product management, customers and other stakeholder to define requirements, scope projects, build and ship high quality software products in rapid and iterative cycles.
Support customers and live site engineering teams operating the applications and services.
Stay up to date on industry trends around web application development, testing, cloud native technologies, dev ops processes, modern design, and service engineering.
Mentor, coach, and grow engineers while modeling care, respect and inclusiveness.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
15+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of engineering management experience with direct people management responsibilities
3+ years of experience leading agile software development, scrum certification is a plus.
Experience building and leading an engineering team delivering high quality products.
Experience with building applications using .NET or Java, Typescript ( Angular/React) technologies and managing application development teams
Experience with cloud infrastructure services provided by AWS, Azure or GCP will be a plus.
Education:
BS degree in computer sciences, software design, engineering, information systems, related field or equivalent work experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
Subject to inside environmental conditions.
Travel for this position will include less than 5% locally usually for training purposes.
