About this job
Your profile
- Recently finalised university education (master) or a student currently in the last year of a Master programme, preferably in data science, applied statistics, or related fields. Priority will be given to applicants that combine data science with economics or public policy, either in your studies or in past professional experience.
- Experience of programming languages for data manipulation, especially Python, R and SQL.
- Some knowledge of good coding practices and modern data science tools such as git, Github, Visual Studio.
- Experience and interest in data science techniques such as generative AI and other machine learning techniques.
- Interest in widening your skillset beyond data science: we develop fully-rounded analysts who are also capable of applying data science techniques – not just programmers.
- Interest in European Commission policies, in particular in science, technology and innovation;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Willingness to learn about new topics, methods, and skills.
- Proficiency in other languages.
Your responsibilities
- Developing data analysis pipelines;
- Applying supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniques to mainly text data;
- Data wrangling;
- Data visualisation;
- Reporting results of analysis;
- Assist in other tasks such as literature reviews, case studies and other tasks where needed.
