At the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation, you’re in the heart of the action! The Great Lakes/Seaway System is a “marine highway” that extends some 3,700 km from the Atlantic Ocean to the Great Lakes.

Ranked as one of the greatest engineering feats of the 20th century, the Seaway includes 13 Canadian locks and 2 U.S. locks connecting the lower St. Lawrence River to the Great Lakes.

Together with our American counterpart, the Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation, we coordinate on a host of operational activities, ranging from traffic management to navigation aids and every other conceivable issue you might imagine would be important for a major waterway.
