U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota

The United States District Court for the District of Minnesota is the Federal district court whose jurisdiction is the entire State of Minnesota. Its two primary courthouses are in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Cases are also heard in the federal courthouses of Duluth and Fergus Falls. The district, which was founded in 1858, has seven authorized judgeships and is led by Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz.
