
CAD & Drafting Engineer

Key Responsibilities
· Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for hydro‑generator components.
· Develop fabrication and assembly drawings with accurate GD&T.
· Maintain drawing packages, BOMs, and revision control in PDM/PLM systems.
· Support mechanical and electrical engineers with layout, clearance, and interface drawings.
· Convert legacy drawings into modern CAD formats.
· Produce electrical drawings including wiring diagrams, schematics, terminal plans, and equipment layouts.
· Draft electrical apparatus and devices such as CTs, PTs, relays, breakers, sensors, and terminal blocks.
· Interpret one‑line diagrams, 3‑phase circuits, and generator connection diagrams.

Work Experience
Required Qualifications
· Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting Technology, or related field.
· 3+ years of CAD modeling and drafting experience, preferably in electromechanical devices, rotating machinery, or heavy industrial equipment.
· SolidWorks proficiency strongly preferred.
· Strong understanding of GD&T, dimensioning, tolerancing, and fabrication practices.
· Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, and manufacturing requirements.
· Experience with PDM/PLM systems for document control.
· Working knowledge of electrical circuits, including 3‑phase systems, wiring diagrams, and electromechanical components.
· Knowledge of welding, machining processes, and fabrication standards.
· General familiarity with common engineering materials, including metals, insulation materials, and other materials used in generator components.
