Job Description
The Site Superintendent will be accountable for overseeing all field operations in multiple construction projects. This existing role will be the driving force in ensuring our project plans are successfully completed as per design, budget, and schedule. This position will lead and coach Site Coordinators while being responsible for safety and quality. The Site Superintendent is expected to spend a minimum of 85% of their work week on the jobsite.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Site Management
Oversee, direct, coach, train, and mentor direct and indirect reports on the Project team
Effectively communicate with Site teams and subcontractors to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met
Collaborate with the project team in finding solutions to potential problems, identifying risks, work interferences and schedule conflicts.
Work in partnership with clients and other site contractors to ensure all parties are aligned with the project requirements
Assist in creating, maintaining, and executing the project plan and schedule to ensure compliance with budget and quality
Review and understand the contract and subcontracts
Develop and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders
Contribute to company initiatives
Other duties as required
Health and Safety
Create and maintain a culture of Safety First, leading by example and holding our site teams and site partners accountable
Works with the Project Manager and Site Safety Manager to ensure implementation of Toro Aluminum’s safety program and adherence to all safety requirements
Work in partnership with Site Coordinators to ensure all on site safety standards are being met
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Journeyman certificate or Postsecondary diploma or degree in related field
Architecture
Construction
Building Science
Engineering
Management (Post-secondary in Management is an asset, but not required)
Experience
5 years of experience in field supervision preferred
Skills
Successfully supervised construction workforce
In depth knowledge of and experience in construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods, and procedures
Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project
Understanding of contract language
In depth knowledge of and application of safety, environmental principles, procedures, and legislation
Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with the client, consultants, own forces, and internal employees
Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, problem solving abilities and professional judgement
Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
Knowledge of virtual construction software and tools
Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite/365
Salary Range: $80000 - $130000
