We partner with researchers and industry to move UCI knowledge and discoveries into products and markets. With this goal, we collaborate closely with faculty/researchers, industry, and entrepreneurs to carry out a variety of projects and programs with four pillars of BAI's teams: Research Translation, New Ventures, Enterprise Collaborations, and Industry Sponsored Research. BAI is currently located at UCI Research Park. Our physical building, known as the Cove@UCI, provides office space for BAI staff, offers sublease space for emerging UCI ecosystem start-ups and partners, and a venue for programs and events designed to foster university-industry collaboration. Your Role on the Team The Sr. A.I. Story Systems Strategist advances UC Irvine’s NarrA.I.tive Story Studio by transforming data into narrative intelligence that informs what is created, how it is shaped, and why it matters. This role evaluates content performance, audience engagement, and generative outputs to identify what resonates and continuously refine storytelling quality and relevance. The Sr. A.I. Story Systems Strategist defines high-potential story territories by interpreting signals across market activity, cultural trends, and university research, aligning storytelling with research translation and commercialization priorities. By integrating business intelligence into AI-driven creative workflows, this role ensures data effectively informs ideation, prompting, asset generation, and iteration, contributing to the evolution of the UC Irvine Brand Brain. The Sr. A.I. Story Systems Strategist develops and maintains systems that surface actionable insights across stories, audiences, and channels, enabling evidence-based storytelling that is both scalable and creatively distinctive. What It Takes to be Successful Performs predictive analysis and forecasting to anticipate audience behavior, content performance, and emerging opportunities. Synthesizes data to identify patterns, relationships, and gaps that inform storytelling and strategic planning. 20% Conducts ongoing analysis of market data, cultural trends, and university research to define and prioritize high-potential story territories. Develops and maintains dashboards and reporting tools to track performance, engagement, and pipeline outputs. 30% Partners with cross-functional teams, including innovation clusters, to align storytelling with research translation and commercialization goals. Contributes to strategic initiatives and supports the adoption of BI tools and insights. 15% Translates analytical insights into clear narrative guidance that shapes story development, content strategy, and production decisions. 20% Integrates BI systems into the Brand Brain and AI-driven Story Studio, ensuring effective data flow across creative workflows and supporting scalable, insight-driven storytelling. 15% Required: Thorough knowledge of relevant internal databases, BI applications, and tools. Ability to produce high-quality reports, documentation, and structured data outputs suitable for advanced analytical and AI-assisted applications. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex information, assess problems, and develop effective solutions, including identifying nuanced market and business insights across multiple domains. Detail-oriented, with the ability to manage time and organize competing priorities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to transform complex data into clear, compelling narrative insights that inform story development, content strategy, and decision-making. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with a broad range of professional and technical staff. Proven ability to serve as a technical resource providing advice and counsel on business intelligence issues. Proficiency in building dashboards and visual tools, and clearly communicating findings to both technical and creative stakeholders in an actionable way. Strong capability in forecasting, and pattern recognition to anticipate audience behavior, content performance, and emerging opportunities. Skill in shaping insights into structured story arcs and messaging that resonate with defined audiences, especially in translating technical research into accessible narratives. Ability to integrate diverse inputs, including market data, cultural trends, and academic research, into a cohesive view of high-value story opportunities. Ability to structure and apply data within AI-powered content systems, including informing prompts, generative outputs, and iterative creative processes. Ability to operate across disciplines, connecting data systems, storytelling workflows, and organizational goals, while influencing direction beyond reporting.
