[What the role is]
The Senior Lecturer/Lecturer will develop industry-ready allied legal professionals equipped with legal, business, and digital capabilities to support Singapore’s legal, corporate, compliance, and regulatory sectors.[What you will be working on]
Teaching & Mentorship
- Facilitate learning for diploma (PET) and part-time adult (CET) learners in Contract & Commercial Law, Compliance, Risk & Governance, Legal Processes & Case Management, Intellectual Property in Business & Innovation, Legal Technology and/or Criminal Law and Procedure.
- Design and deliver learning experiences across legal and business domains, incorporating real-world legal, regulatory, and organisational scenarios.
- Train students in practice-oriented competencies, including legal and regulatory research, document drafting, case and workflow management, and stakeholder communication.
- Mentor students in applied projects, legal problem-solving exercises, and case-based learning to develop legal reasoning, professional judgment, and workplace readiness.
Curriculum & Workshop Development
- Design and develop curricula that integrate legal principles, procedural law, and business applications, with emphasis on real-world practice.
- Embed digital and legal technology competencies, including use of legal research tools, document management systems, and emerging technology-enabled workflows.
- Develop workshops across areas such as compliance practices, contract management, intellectual property in commercial contexts, criminal justice processes, and evidentiary procedures.
Industry Collaboration
- Partner with law firms, corporate legal teams, compliance functions, enforcement agencies, and legal technology providers on applied and practice-based learning initiatives.
- Collaborate with industry partners to ensure curricula remain aligned with current legal practice, regulatory developments, and evolving business needs.
- Support development of internships, work-integrated learning, and industry projects to strengthen graduate employability across legal and business roles.
Strategic Initiatives & Leadership
- Support the domain’s strategic shift towards a business-integrated legal capability programme aligned with industry needs.
- Contribute to programme development and enhancement to ensure practical relevance, cross-disciplinary integration, and future-readiness.
- Support cross-disciplinary initiatives within the Business School (e.g. compliance, contracts, risk, innovation).
- Contribute to innovation in applied legal education, including the integration of legal technology and skills for emerging roles.
[What we are looking for]
- Qualifications in Law. Exposure to areas such as commercial law, criminal law and procedure, intellectual property, compliance, or related fields would be advantageous.
- Professional experience in legal practice, paralegal work, compliance, enforcement, regulatory, or corporate environments, with familiarity with Singapore’s legal framework.
- Ability to apply legal knowledge in business, regulatory, and organisational contexts.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and applied learning environment.
- Passion for mentoring and developing career-ready graduates, with interest in practice-based and technology-enabled education.
