Job Description
Aerometals is looking to add the following position:
Quality Engineer I
Pay range: $65,000 - $80,000 DOE
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 7:00am - 4:30pm & Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to:
- Serve as the primary originator of Nonconformance Reports (NCRs) for production.
- Identify and evaluate potential nonconformances against applicable drawings, specifications, and work instructions to determine whether a formal NCR is warranted.
- Document NCRs completely and ensure supporting objective evidence is included.
- Physically identify, tag, and segregate nonconforming hardware to prevent unauthorized use or release of discrepant product.
- Cross-reference travelers, routers, and inspection records to confirm the full scope of the nonconformance and identify additional affected hardware.
- Assemble documentation packages for Material Review Board (MRB) review; support disposition decisions by senior quality personnel.
- Maintain the NC log and tracking system to ensure accurate status of all open NCRs.
- Perform in-process and final inspections per applicable drawings, specifications, and inspection plans; escalate out-of-tolerance findings as potential NCRs.
- Participate in the AS9100 Quality Program.
- Perform other duties as required by the organization.
Qualification Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering
Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
- Clear and precise technical writing for NCR documentation and quality records.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical procedures without deviation.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
- Effective communication with personnel.
Experience: 6 months in a manufacturing
Training: On the job training.

We offer a full range of production services including CNC machining and turning, sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly, autoclave, and precision assembly.
