
VP - Product Owner - Operations Technology
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner with deep expertise in investment management technology to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technology delivery teams. You will own the vision, roadmap, and backlog for critical investment systems — including data management, accounting, and performance platforms — while leading a small team of analysts and associate product owners / business analysts. This is a senior-level people leadership role requiring strategic thinking, hands-on analytical capability, and the ability to drive both product outcomes and team development in a fast-paced agile environment.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Product Vision & Roadmap — Define and maintain the product roadmap for investment data and operational systems, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy. Partner with senior stakeholders to assess trade-offs, sequence initiatives, and communicate product decisions clearly.
- Backlog Management & Agile Delivery — Own the product backlog end-to-end, writing well-structured user stories and acceptance criteria, grooming and prioritizing features, and serving as the primary decision-maker for scope and priority within your product domain.
- Business Requirements & Systems Analysis — Lead discovery and requirements-gathering with front, middle, and back-office stakeholders, translating complex investment operational processes into clear application requirements. Review system design proposals to ensure they are fit for purpose and consistent with broader architecture.
- Data Analysis & Quality — Use SQL and data knowledge to perform hands-on analysis, validate data flows, investigate quality issues, and champion metadata management and data governance best practices within your product domain.
- Stakeholder Engagement — Serve as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders across investment operations, portfolio management, and technology. Communicate complex concepts clearly and keep stakeholders informed and aligned throughout delivery.
- People Leadership & Team Development — Directly manage a team of analysts and associate product owners / business analysts, providing formal oversight of performance, goal setting, and career development. Conduct regular one-on-ones, deliver performance reviews, and actively participate in compensation and promotion discussions. Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture and invest in growing the capabilities of your team over time. Partner with HR and senior leadership on hiring decisions and workforce planning within your product domain.
- Continuous Improvement & Mentorship — Monitor system performance, gather user feedback, and identify enhancement opportunities. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and associate product owners on the team.

Required Experience
- 5+ Years of progressive work experience in the investment /Asset management domain.
- Experience in front, middle and back-office solutions focusing investment / asset management
- Deep experience across investment operational process across accounting, corp. actions, investment performance, collateral management etc.
- Experience in investment data across EQ, FI, Derivatives and alternate assets.
- Experience on operational process including Mutual Funds, CITs, ETFs and Separately Managed Accounts
- Experience in Eagle suit of products (Accounting, Pricing and Data Management)
- Experience towards data integration, meta data management, data quality and ability to run SQL queries to perform data analysis is required.
- Working in a fast paced and agile environment is a must.
Anticipated Posting End Date:
2026-06-30Base Pay Range: $134,000/yr - $183,000/yrActual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
