TITLE: Landscape Technician/Specialist

LOCATION: Columbia, MO.
This role involves travel throughout the Columbia region and other parts of Missouri. Some overnight travel may be required.

This position is responsible for managing the grounds, horticulture and landscape of various multi-family communities.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Cares for established lawns and beds by mulching, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls.
- Possesses general knowledge and experience in applying herbicide and pesticide chemicals to grounds, trees, bushes, and shrubs in order to control weeds and plant diseases.
- Assist with gathering and removing litter from grounds.
- Experience in operating appropriate hand and power tools including but not limited to shovels, rakes, saws, gas blowers, trimmers, and knowledge in shaping hedges to desired design.
- Addresses questions or concerns with the clients if approached. Communicates customer’s questions immediately with the supervisor.
- Cleans, maintains, and repairs tools and equipment as necessary.
- Communicates and works in conjunction with Supervisor by completing and submitting job site reports on property and equipment.
- Adheres to company’s employee manual & safety procedures as required from all employees. Demonstrates proper use of safety equipment and Personal Protective Equipment and practices of the crew.
- Travels to, and participate in, both regional and corporate training and/or conferences as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agriculture Science or Landscape Maintenance, a plus.
- Prior experience operating all lawn care equipment preferred.
- Able to provide independent transportation to company owned locations within the Columbia area and able legally operate a registered and properly insured vehicle
