
Viva Pediatric Day Center - Lubbock (Full Time) LVN
Job Description
A Licensed Vocational Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will have at least the following qualifications and experience:
- a valid LVN license under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 301, with no disciplinary action
- valid certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Basic First Aid; and one year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors, obtained within the previous five years
- One of the following:
- One year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors obtained within the last consecutive five years; or
- sufficient skills to meet the competency and training requirements
A Licensed Vocational Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will be responsible for the following:
- maintaining compliance with the standards of nursing practice and delegation.
- providing nursing interventions that includes parental training, information, and education to increase a parent's confidence and competence in caring for a minor.
- having knowledge of the availability of community resources
- participating on the IDT and in the IDT meetings regarding a minor's plan of care and progress.
- communicating findings to a minor's prescribing physician and an RN; and
- administering medications, intravenous infusions, parenteral feeding, and other specialized treatments; monitoring and documenting the effect of medications, therapies and progress in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice.
