Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Position Overview:
The Secondary Educational Assistant (EA) provides support to secondary teachers and staff with various tasks each and every day. EAs have a direct impact on students’ experiences during the school day.
Position Responsibilities:
● Monitor Study Halls
● Assist with classroom management
● Assist with detention as needed
● Record and monitor attendance
● Provide support that promotes students’ independence
● Support students in organization, study skills, tutoring as needed
● Provide clerical support as requested
● Maintain some student records
● Implement MTSS interventions and accommodations as directed by MTSS team
● Collaborate and consult with the Learning Support Services team
● Perform administrative duties such as assisting in hall, cafeteria monitoring and support/clean-up, driveline duties
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
● High School Diploma or Equivalent, Pass a criminal background evaluation, Maintain a commitment to students’ learning. Excel at organizational tasks that involve many people and variables. Thrive in a diverse, intellectually challenging, entrepreneurial environment.

● Responsiveness: Follow up and follow through with students, parents, and faculty members are essential. Knowledge of both Mac and PC, Google.
Essential Physical Requirements:
● Occasional lifting, five (5) to fifty (50) pounds
● Ability to stand/walk for ninety (90) minutes
● Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, reaching, and sitting

Compensation:
The pay range for this role is $16.78 - $25.86 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities:


--- Monitor individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. classroom, playground, field trips, library, lunchroom, bus loading/unloading, etc.) for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.


--- Maintain instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/ for the purpose of ensuring availability of items, and/or meeting mandated requirements.


--- Assist teachers with classroom assignments for the purpose of supporting teachers in the instructional process.


--- Assist students, individually or in small groups, with lesson assignments for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting students in reaching academic goals and grade level standards.


--- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.


--- Administer minor first aid for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs.


--- Mediate student conflicts to ensure a safe educational environment.


--- Report observations and incidents relating to specific students (e.g. accidents, fights, appropriate and inappropriate social behavior, violations of rules, safety conditions, etc.) for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.


--- Perform general clerical tasks for the purpose of assisting teachers with instructional material.

  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
