About the Role: The Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer is responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining the AC power, DC power, and cooling infrastructure equipment at Uniti CLEC Central Offices and 3rd party carrier hotels. The ISP Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the assigned duties meet or exceed the manufacturer and company’s procedures, schedules, and performance standards. Day-to-day activities include writing detailed installation procedures, submitting RFQs, ordering material, creating MOPS, and creating the drawings associated with each project. The Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer will work together with Operations, Facilities Management, and all Engineering verticals to ensure on time completion of projects. Perform diverse and multifaceted duties which are not limited to repair, maintenance, and upgrades.  Candidates must be able to use a power meter and read schematics to isolate and repair troubles as well as be a technical interface with peers.  The Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer will be responsible for tracking all capital costs associated with projects and ensure they remain within budgetary limits.  The Inside Plant (ISP) Engineer will initiate and track all required capital activity request forms, and all PO requests to vendors required for the various projects.  Upon job completion, the ISP Engineer will perform random quality inspections of installations to ensure they meet the Uniti standards and update all corporate records with new equipment and assignment information. Job Requirements: Strong project management skills and the ability to work with and direct others within the Uniti team and vendors.  The ability to lead inter-departmental teams – coordinate and lead weekly project-based conference calls as necessary. Coordination of construction schedules and the necessary hardware resources required. Budgetary project tracking and adherence and be able to develop long term Capital projects. The ability to write detailed technical installation specifications, which may require researching manufacturer installation guides for power and cabling requirements. Maintain Facility records, permits, applications and other regulatory matters. Candidate must be able to work during non-traditional hours and or callout for emergency events. Inventory list preparation and sourcing, staging of required materials for pickup by vendors or internal resources. Knowledge of ILEC Installation Standards. Knowledge in AC power, DC battery power plants, DC BDFBs, power cable sizing, heat loads, HVAC, generators, and ATS, . Experience and knowledge of Telecommunications record keeping and standard drawings types – floor plans, face equipment drawings, assignment charts, cabling running lists, etc…  The ability to create these drawing from scratch for new locations. Professionalism in all customer contacts. Ability to hit the ground running in a fast paced environment Must be motivated, energetic, have a strong work ethic and able to attend to offsite concerns in a moment’s notice. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Excellent customer service skills required Education & Experience A Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of 5 years equivalent experience. Experience working in Carrier Hotels, CLEC/ ILEC Central Offices and collocation facilities. Knowledge of ILEC standards, documents, tariffs, and central office installation procedures. Computer Skills Proficient in the use of QuickBase, Microsoft Word, Excel, CAD and Visio. Microsoft Project is a plus. License Driver’s license and vehicle insurance. Travel Travel throughout the Uniti footprint is possible. Salary starts at $80,000
