
MRI / Front Office Assistant
Job Description
The MRI Imaging Assistant/Front Office Float is a hybrid role that supports both the clinical and administrative functions of the MRI Department. This position assists MRI Technologists with patient preparation, obtaining medical histories, positioning patients for examinations, coordinating patient flow, preparing exam rooms, and supporting daily department operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
In addition to clinical responsibilities, this role serves as a Front Office Float, providing coverage and support for all front office functions as needed. Duties may include patient check-in and check-out, answering and directing telephone calls, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and assisting with other administrative tasks to maintain efficient office operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, and works effectively as part of a collaborative team.
Hours
Monday through Thursday: 10 am to 7 pm
Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Saturday: 8 am to 1 pm - 2 days out of the month

Essential Functions:
- Checking patients in / out and scheduling follow-up appts
- Collecting new patient paperwork or an electronic version and updating it in the system
- Verify patients' insurance
- Collecting payments (copays, balances, MRI payments, online payments, and surgery payments)
- Keeping track of all money in the cash drawer and all payments
- Answering incoming calls/help check-in/sort, and scan records
- The MRI Assistant will help escort patients to the MRI Department and dressing room.
- The MRI Assistant will also help with all patient paperwork and data entry required in the MRI Department.
- The Assistant will also help with daily operational duties needed in the MRI Department.
Work Experience/Required Experience:
- High School Diploma (Required)
- 1 year of previous medical office experience (preferred)
