Job Description

We are looking for a powerhouse IT Engineer II to bridge the gap between high-level architecture and hands-on execution. You won't just be "managing servers" - you’ll be a vital link between Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, FinOps, M&A, and DevOps. This role is at the heart of our Aerospace innovation, directly supporting AI-driven projects that are shaping the future of flight.

You will report directly to our Senior IT Manager, and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on an On-site hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the operational excellence of Honeywell's aerospace division by maintaining robust IT systems that support the company's mission to innovate and lead in the aerospace industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Dual-Cloud Mastery: Manage and optimize complex environments across both Azure and AWS.
• Automation & CI/CD: Orchestrate our software delivery lifecycle by managing GitHub Enterprise and building robust, automated pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• ServiceNow (SNOW) Integration: Maintain, ServiceNow Catalog Items to provide seamless self-service capabilities for our engineers.
• AI & Aerospace: Support specialized workloads for AI/ML projects, ensuring the high-performance computing (HPC) needs of our Aerospace division are met.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the technical "glue" between FinOps (cost optimization), M&A (tenant integrations), and Operations (reliability).
• Python Scripting: Write clean, efficient Python scripts to automate everything from routine maintenance to complex cloud deployments.
• Expert Troubleshooting: Dive deep into complex cloud networking, identity, and performance issues to keep our mission-critical systems flying high.
• Build pipelines: Design distributed workflows using Apache Spark
• Integrate LLMs: Deploy intelligent agents to automate tasks
• Manage cloud infrastructure: Support multi-cloud CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Write robust code: Develop extensive SQL and Python scripts
• Optimize OCR data: Process large-scale text and embedding storage
• Collaborate with teams: Align with technical and business stakeholders
 

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
  • Experience in IT engineering or related roles supporting complex IT environments
  • IT infrastructure experience with focus on Azure and AWS.
  • Familiar with GitHub version control and building custom GitHub Actions for CI/CD.
  • Familiar in Python for automation and tool development.
  • A "detective" mindset for troubleshooting complex cloud outages or performance bottlenecks.
  • A passion for Aerospace and a desire to work on cutting-edge AI initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, server management, cybersecurity principles, and IT support methodologies
  • Experience with Windows and Linux server environments, virtualization technologies, and cloud services
  • Familiar with IT security tools, network monitoring, and incident response processes
  • Technical Skills:
  • Languages: Python, SQL, Java, C++, C#
  • Data Tools: Databricks, PySpark, Pandas, NumPy
  • Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Azure, GCP, GitHub Actions
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, Cloudera, database design
  • AI/ML Frameworks: Vector embeddings, local LLM deployment
  • BI Software: Power BI, SSRS analytics dashboards

  • Experience in aerospace or manufacturing industry IT environments
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, or similar

  • Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and automation tools
