Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to serve as an OPS Training Specialist based at Wekiwa Springs State Park.

 

This position supports District 3’s employee development and workplace engagement initiatives. This position is 24 hours per week and does not include benefits or paid leave.  Work schedule and hours may vary depending on training events or engagement initiatives. 

 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Compliance with the processing requirements of Chapter 215.422, F.S. is mandatory.  Persistent failure to comply with this section by any agency of the state shall constitute good cause for discharge of employees duly found responsible, or predominately responsible, for failure to comply.

 

This is moderately independent work providing administrative and training support to the District 3 team.

 

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • Learning principles and instructional design
  • Employee engagement strategies and workplace wellness principles
  • Microsoft Office Suite

 

SKILLS IN:

  • Designing, implementation, scheduling and evaluation of training programs
  • Creating digital and print-based training materials
  • Organizational skills
  • Planning and organizing events or programs with attention to detail

 

ABILITY TO:

  • Create instructional materials such as presentations, manuals, guides, eLearning modules and job aids.
  • Assist with facilitation of onboarding session and ongoing training
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs
  • Schedule training and provide effective communication to the trainer and trainees
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation of training sessions
  • Travel to various sites as needed to assist in delivering training and engagement activities
  • Build strong relationships with staff and leadership
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Provide administrative assistance and support
  • Lift up to 30 pounds for event or training set-up 

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Drivers’ License

  

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with learning management systems (LMS)

Experience in training, instructional design or a related field. 

 

 

Pay:

$16-17 an hour (Based on experience)
