Job Description

Schedule 

  • Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM 

Location 

  • Carmel facility 

 

Role Focus 

This position is primarily surgery scheduling–focused. 
✔️ No patient checkin or checkout responsibilities 

 

Top Responsibilities 

  • Schedule cosmetic and dermatologic surgeries 

  • Contact patients with preprocedure instructions 

  • Send clinical notes to referring physicians 

  • Facilitate patient flow in a timely, accurate, and professional manner 

  • Schedule appointments and obtain appropriate demographic and financial information 

  • Explain department/hospital charges and policies 

  • Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems 

  • Collect necessary patient payments 

  • Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately 

 

What Success Looks Like 

  • 3 Months: Able to work independently while still partnering closely with a mentor 

  • 6 Months: Mostly independent, with minimal questions 

  • 12 Months: Fully independent and confident in all responsibilities

  • Selfstarter with strong followthrough 

  • Healthcare background is helpful, though not required

Required Qualifications 

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding 

  • ICD10 and CPT coding preferred 

  • Ability to interpret insurance information 

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices preferred 

  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) 

 

Preferred Experience 

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting 

  • Prior scheduling, patient coordination, or medical office experience a plus
