Job Description
Under the direction of the Director of Nursing LTC or designee, the LTC LPN Supervisor oversees the daily operations of an assigned unit, ensuring residents receive high-quality care in accordance with established care plans and applicable state and federal regulations. This role provides leadership, support, and supervision to direct care staff while serving as a key advocate for resident well-being and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and support direct care staff, including Nursing Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medication Technicians, and LPNs.
Monitor resident care to ensure compliance with care plans, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
Oversee resident admissions, discharges, medication management, documentation, and infection prevention practices.
Collaborate with Social Services, medical staff, residents, and families to promote coordinated care and positive resident outcomes.
Participate in staff training, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
Provide direct resident care and supervisory support as needed, including participation in on-call leadership rotations.
Support quality improvement, resident and staff safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance efforts.
Maintain current nursing knowledge, licensure, and professional competencies.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.
Current Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
Experience working as a Charge Nurse in a Long Term Care setting.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
State-approved IV Therapy Certification.
