Compensation: $39,750 - $46,000 / year
Description
Key Responsibilities
- Review and draw conclusions from recent published research.
- Do quantitative analysis of existing data sets and sometimes collect original data through interviews, surveys and collaboration with academic researchers.
- Write clear, concise, message-driven reports.
- Produce op-eds, social media posts, fact sheets and other communications to disseminate the results of our research.
- Evaluate policy alternatives and work with advocates to develop policy principles and proposals.
- Provide research support for Frontier Group analysts and for advocates throughout The Public Interest Network through data-checking and fact-checking of reports and other communications.
- Take part in organization-building activities including recruitment, fundraising and staff training.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- At least two years of full-time experience in public interest advocacy, journalism, or policy analysis and development, OR
- An advanced degree in a relevant field plus some experience in public interest advocacy, journalism, or policy analysis and development.
- Skills and creativity to distill information from a variety of sources into clear, powerful conclusions and communicate those conclusions in writing to decision-makers and the public.
- Experience with designing and carrying out data analysis.
- Experience in policy development or advocacy is strongly preferred, but not required.
- Experience with geospatial analysis, database design and/or modeling is a strong plus.
