
Central Transportation Dispatcher
Job Description
The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.
Receive transportation request from the general public and agency representatives via email, telephone or fax.
Operate a two-way radio for monitoring and communicating with the transporters throughout the day. Maintain a daily dispatch log, documenting all transportation related calls.
Verify reports to ensure passenger's trip requests are scheduled, and assign scheduled trips to vehicles and transporters.
Provide general or directional information to the public; interprets departmental or County policies and procedures; receives and screens telephone calls resolving inquiries or complaints for the Lead Dispatcher.
Type routine letters, memorandum, forms and reports from information provided by the public, rough drafts or notes; operates office equipment.
Perform any related work as required, including filling in as back up transporter if necessary.
Special knowledge, abilities, skills, physical requirements, and other factors: Proficiency with spreadsheet or database is highly desired
