Your tasks

• Design, develop and maintain data models on the BIANCA analytics platform (Microsoft Azure Services)
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications 
• Implement business logic in data objects and ETL pipelines (SQl, PySpark)
• Design and orchestrate ETL pipelines and data loads
• Integrate and onboard new data sources 
• Performing business-, data- and data model analysis in SAP source systems (S/4HANA and BW/4HANA),
   e.g. reading table structures and views
• Perform testing across all stages (component, system, integration, acceptance) 
• Support deployments to test and production environments and provide early life support 

Your profile

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in cloud-based analytics environments 
• Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and Lakehouse architectures 
• Experience with data modeling, ETL design and data integration 
• Experience with SAP source systems (S/4HANA and BW/4HANA)
• Knowledge analysing SAP code, transactions and functions
  • classic SAP tools and transactions
  • Basic knowledge in S/4HANA features (CDS views and ABAP in Eclipse)
• Ability to work independently on clearly defined user stories and deliverables 
• Experience working in agile or hybrid delivery models within international delivery setups
• Experience in large-scale enterprise data platforms
• Familiarity with governance, security and authorization concepts

About the department

You will be working within the Data & Analytics unit of Netze BW, part of the EnBW Group, one of Germany’s largest energy infrastructure companies. The department is responsible for designing, developing and operating the enterprise analytics platform BIANCA, which is built on Microsoft Azure and serves as the central foundation for data-driven use cases across the organization.

The team is organized according to a domain-oriented model. Each domain represents a clearly defined business area and works closely with its corresponding business units. As a Data Engineer, you will be assigned to one ore more data domain and work as part of a cross-functional team to design and implement end-to-end data engineering solutions.

Your work will focus on hands-on data engineering tasks such as data modeling, data integration, and the development of scalable and reliable ETL pipelines using Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps. Within your domain, you will translate business requirements and user stories into high-quality technical implementations that directly support the needs of the respective functional departments.
