OVERVIEW

Position Summary

We are seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing Property & Casualty team. This role is ideal for a client-focused insurance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong client relationships, and takes pride in delivering proactive service. This position plays a key role in supporting continued business growth, creating additional service capacity for senior team members managing larger accounts, and ensuring a high level of service for an expanding commercial client portfolio. The Account Manager will partner closely with Producers, carriers, and internal service teams to manage day-to-day client needs, support renewals and policy servicing, identify coverage gaps, and contribute to organic growth initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You’ll Do / Your Impact

Client Service & Account Management

  • Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for assigned commercial clients
  • Manage policy servicing activities including endorsements, certificates, renewals, policy changes, audits, and coverage questions
  • Build strong client relationships through responsive, proactive communication
  • Coordinate with carriers, underwriters, and internal teams to ensure timely execution of service requests
  • Assist in preparing renewal strategy materials, proposals, and coverage comparisons
  • Maintain accurate documentation and account activity within agency management systems

Risk Advisory & Coverage Consultation

  • Review client programs for potential coverage gaps or exposures
  • Partner with clients to identify additional solutions that strengthen their overall risk management strategy
  • Support consultative conversations around complementary coverages such as Cyber, EPLI, Umbrella, and other commercial insurance solutions
  • Help ensure clients are maximizing Alera Group’s broader capabilities

Growth & Organic Expansion

  • Support regional organic growth initiatives through account expansion opportunities within existing client relationships
  • Identify and refer opportunities for additional lines of business where appropriate
  • Participate in internal growth programs and performance initiatives tied to account development
  • Collaborate with Producers and leadership to support retention and expansion goals

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience in an account management, client service, or similar client-facing role
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy servicing workflows, and carrier interactions
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and accountability
  • Proficiency with agency management systems and Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe if applicable)
  • Experience supporting middle market or commercial business accounts
  • Experience in a brokerage or agency environment
  • Exposure to cross-selling, account rounding, or organic growth initiatives

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Compensation & Incentives

Base Salary: $55,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience)

This role may also be eligible to participate in regional incentive programs tied to organic growth initiatives and account expansion opportunities, in addition to standard compensation plans.
