About Us:Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium & Safari Park is Arizona’s largest collection of exotic animals, spanning over 110 acres and home to more than 6,000 animals representing over 600 species.
Position Overview:We are seeking a motivated Veterinary Technician to join our animal care and veterinary team. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse collection of wildlife, including mammals, birds, reptiles, and aquatic species, in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and medical procedures across a wide variety of species
Administer medications and treatments as directed
Monitor animal health, behavior, and recovery
Prepare and maintain surgical and treatment areas
Perform laboratory work (bloodwork, fecals, cytology, etc.)
Maintain accurate medical records
Support preventative care programs
Assist with animal restraint and handling as needed
Collaborate with animal care staff to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications:
Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience with exotic, zoo, or wildlife species preferred
Strong clinical and technical skills
Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (lifting, standing, outdoor conditions)
Comfortable working around large and potentially dangerous animals (with proper protocols)
Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
