Job Description
Job Overview:
The SAP Product Development Data Specialist will support the implementation and optimization of SAP/ Integrated Product Development (IPD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions. This role will focus on master data collection, migration, product structure management, and cross-functional integration across product development, procurement, manufacturing and supply chain domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements related to product lifecycle and master data.
Schedule and conduct meetings to understand data needs
Understand integration points with other systems/ modules (e.g., MM, SD, PP, PLM)
Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or compliance issues in existing master data practices
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) guidelines, data lifecycle policies that cover data creation, modification, storage, archiving and deletion
Collaborate with SAP technical consultants and developers to implement solutions
Responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and up to date information of finished goods components data in the system.
Collect and review documents from ingredient suppliers and ensure that information of existing ingredients aligns with G&G standards and government regulations
Communicate relevant updates and changes to stakeholders that impact products or process
Support data migration activities including mapping, cleansing, validation and reconciliation
Ensure alignment of master data standards across product development, manufacturing, and logistics
Troubleshoot and resolve functional issues related to IPD/PLM and master data
Provide training and documentation for end-users and data stewards
Stay informed of new food regulations and SAP methodologies
Maintain updated knowledge on food labelling regulations by attending courses, webinars and use of regulatory agencies’ websites
Stay current with SAP methodology and best practices for PLM/IPD implementations.
The Recipe for Success:
Completion of university degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or other relevant scientific discipline
Minimum 5 years experience in the Food Manufacturing industry
Working knowledge of Food Regulations, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Product Development
Food science certificate
Extensive experience working with SAP master data, including Material Master, BOMs, Routings, and Documents.
Knowledge of ingredient labeling regulations
Knowledge of ESHA Genesis nutrition software program
Excellent attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and consistency
Excellent organizational skills, dependable, able to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Proficient in computer literacy e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Able to take direction, dependable, work well with others as well as independently
Maintain current knowledge of HC, FDA, Food Safety, Quality Assurance Programs, and other International Food Labelling regulations and SAP methodologies for PLM/IPD implementation
