Summary
Department Introduction:
The Central Process and Equipment Engineering (CPEE) Photolithography team at Micron Technology supports global manufacturing by improving photolithography processes, equipment performance, and cost efficiency. The team partners across engineering, operations, and suppliers to enable high-quality, high-volume semiconductor production aligned with Micron’s mission to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Position Overview:
As a Photo EUV Track Principal Engineer, you will lead efforts to improve photolithography track performance and material efficiency across global sites. You will focus on optimizing equipment, materials, and processes to improve yield, quality, and cost. This role includes collaborating with internal teams and suppliers to identify improvements, standardize best practices, and deliver measurable results across the network.
Responsibilities
- Promote a strong safety culture, including safe handling of chemicals and materials.
- Lead and maintain global standards for track processes through governance forums and engineering reviews.
- Improve equipment performance by reducing defects, increasing consistency, and supporting tool qualification and startup activities.
- Drive optimization of EUV materials (such as photoresist and chemicals) to improve performance and reduce cost and waste.
- Partner with Procurement and suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve total cost of ownership.
- Define and implement best known methods (BKMs) and material usage benchmarks across manufacturing sites.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to solve problems and scale improvements globally.
- Share clear updates with stakeholders and support the development of other engineers through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing, including photolithography or track systems.
- Experience working with equipment installation, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including use of data analysis, design of experiments (DOE), or defect reduction methods.
- Experience leading projects across teams or sites and delivering measurable results.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience working with EUV materials, including resist behavior and process integration.
- Proven track record of reducing material usage or improving cost efficiency in manufacturing.
- Familiarity with quality systems and structured problem-solving methods (such as 8D or similar).
- Experience working with external suppliers and global teams in a manufacturing environment.
