The Senior Account Manager, West Region is responsible for sales marketing and customer support activities for assigned domestic marketers of Phillips 66 Finished Lubricants. Account Managers ensure optimal sales, market growth, earnings and customer satisfaction with products and programs offered. Account Managers will drive long term strategy planning and business decisions for their assigned market geography. This position will have primary focus and account responsibilities in the West Region.
Position can be based: Western Half of US
What You’ll Do
- Identifying, developing, and cultivating commercial relationships and pursuing new business opportunities within assigned area, incorporating technical support functions or business development resources, as needed.
- Working with strategic partner accounts in your geography to develop and implement business plans which combine priorities of both parties to assist in long term volume and financial growth.
- Providing support to marketers during end customer visits through awareness of technical sales support, lubricants knowledge, available end customer programs and pricing optimization opportunities.
- Negotiating contract terms and conditions for marketers and end customers.
- Providing market intelligence and data on competitive activity to Brand Management, Product Management, Business Development and other Account Managers to drive future projects and long-term strategic plans.
- Coordinating, facilitating, and conducting product, sales, branded materials, programs and systems training for marketer and end use customer personnel.
- Managing individual expense budget for travel to Marketers and end customers.
- Managing pricing and price changes to maximize profitability while maintaining customer business in each market.
- Supporting Philips 66 Marketer Quality Standards including selling program benefits of participating in Top Tier program, coaching marketers on achieving facility and procedural requirements and helping to drive continuous improvement.
- Providing support for Marketer sales incentive programs including encouraging use of programs by domestic marketers and approving program claims.
- Attending lubricants training opportunities, including but not limited to Advanced Lubrication, Product Category training and MSHA training.
- Developing engineering, operational, technical and maintenance projects that continually support end customer Lubricants value propositions.
- Coordinating and managing business development and technical support activities at customer operations with Regional BD Reps, National BD Reps, Field Engineers, Technical Sales Directors and Field Service Directors.
- Coordinating with mining, energy, and national PCMO account managers to support direct Phillips 66 contracts supplied by domestic marketers including negotiating delivery fees, planning supply, and communicating with direct accounts.
What You’ll Bring – Required
- Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 7 or more years of experience involving accountability for sales, marketing or customer support activities
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time; must be able to drive up to 60% of time within assigned region & travel outside of territory up to an additional 5%
- Experience with conflict resolution and leading internal/external resources to achieve goals
- Proficient in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure common understanding with multiple levels of management
- Proficient with PC applications, MS office applications, and data management; able to gather and interpret data from separate systems
What Makes You Stand Out – Preferred
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 or more years of sales experience with Lubricants or within the petrochemical industry
- Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS)/Industrial Lubricant Engineer (ILE) Certification
- Experience with SFDC
Compensation Range
This position has a base salary range of $140,400 - $171,600.
