
Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Diagnose problems and maintain a variety of material bulk handling equipment • Assist in the transportation and movement of mechanical bulk handling equipment • Assembles and installs equipment such as drive motors, conveyors, and pulley assemblies • Perform stick welding and/or cutting torch operations as needed • Aligns machines and equipment for proper operation • Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures • Repairs and lubricates material bulk handling machines and equipment • Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on equipment, and makes adjustments • Operates a variety of equipment such as cutting torch, welder, forklift, hand tools and electric meters • Lubricates moving parts, examines and operates repaired equipment to verify equipment conformance to specifications • Performs activities of co-workers as directed • Take direction and report to direct supervisor (Terminal Maintenance Supervisor). As a member of the general maintenance crew, perform duties pertaining to the maintenance crew; grease/lubricating bearings, rollers, belts, O/H crane bucket, crane cable repairs etc. • Discharging of Vessels. • Other functions as trained and assigned
What You Will Do
• Regular work attendance is required • Must be willing to work shift and/or overtime hours during the week and/or weekends as dictated by operations • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operators driver license and have the willingness to use personal and/or company vehicle in the course of employment, must be able to obtain a TWIC • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge: • 2-5 years experience with conveying, material handling systems

- Valid driver’s license (meeting company requirements)
- Electrical/mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, email)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
- Must pass background check, training, and drug screening
- Conveyor belt knowlage
Should be able to perform maintenance ranging from basic level service (PM'S), to complex replacement of motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
Equipment expertise should include experience with pumps, motors, controls, and other related equipment.
In-shop and field repair services for, mechanical issues, and other related equipment.
Shaft alignments.
Predictive maintenance services such as greasing bearings,motors, and related equipment.
Properly and accurately complete job, start-up & service to assigned work.
Effectively communicate with operations, maintenance, and management
Develop and maintain positive attitude with other departments.
Keep an organized, clean & resourceful work environment to include the office, shop, work area, warehouse, and service vehicle.
Understand and adhere to all safety related policies, rules, and guidelines.
Consistently provide courteous and professional representation of Company
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift 40–50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs occasionally)
- Ability to climb, work at heights, and operate tools/equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
