Project/Network Engineer Responsible for final design configuration, confirmation of and detailed layout of equipment, and development and testing of specific system code for specific Network & Audio-Visual systems integration projects. This will include coordination and assistance for any technical related questions with all project team resources during implementation to ensure projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality and customer satisfaction requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - AV Provide technical oversight of a project from award through installation and completion Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to ensure quality and completeness Identify and address technical impediments to delivering scope of work Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed Provide technical oversight on commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site Provide weekly project updates for Project Manager Responsible for assisting the Project Manager in monitoring project budget Scrub/Approve equipment based on final design for Project Manager to complete equipment orders Support Project Manager in project hand-off to the installation team when needed Review project designs created by internal and external resources and submit to CAD department Review field and shop red-line drawings, revise shop drawings to “as-built’ status for submission to CAD department. Other duties assigned as needed Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Network Develop detailed network topology designs for new projects, infrastructure refreshes, and site expansions. Produce logical and physical network diagrams illustrating Layer 2/Layer 3 structure, routing flows, segmentation, and redundancy. Conduct network capacity planning, ensuring adequate bandwidth, port density, and fault tolerance. Configure, deploy, and maintain enterprise switches (e.g., Cisco, Netgear). Build and tune switch configurations, including: Access & trunk ports Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP/MSTP) Link aggregation (LACP) QoS policy application Apply security best practices: disable unused ports, enable port security, BPDU Guard, DHCP Snooping, and ARP inspection. Design structured VLAN architectures aligned to organisational security models and traffic segregation needs. Implement VLANs across the switching estate, including Layer 3 routing via switches or routers. Maintain a full VLAN registry: IDs, IP addressing, associated ACLs, and DHCP scopes. Enforce segmentation through inter‑VLAN routing policies, ACLs, and firewall rules. Maintain comprehensive network documentation including: Topology diagrams IP addressing schemas VLAN allocation tables Device configurations and change history Produce clear, concise technical notes and communicate design impacts to non‑technical stakeholders. Skills and Abilities Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients and colleagues in a professional and timely manner Proven business writing skills Ability to diagnose complex system problems Advanced computer skills as required for the design, configuration, and operation of AV & network equipment Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise network architectures. Expertise with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching technologies. Hands‑on experience with VLANs, routing protocols, and network segmentation. Proficient in switch configuration for major vendors (Cisco, HPE/Aruba, Juniper). Skilled in network troubleshooting using standard diagnostic tools. Understanding of firewall concepts, security policies, and integration approaches. Ability to produce clear documentation and technical diagrams.
