$176,800.00-$221,000.00We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Nursing – Professional Practice to lead clinical excellence, quality improvement, and nursing practice across our organization. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Nursing Quality/ Professional Practice, this leader will drive innovation, standardization, and patient-centered care delivery while serving as a key change agent across the healthcare system.
This role is ideal for a visionary nursing leader passionate about advancing professional practice, enhancing patient outcomes, and shaping the future of care delivery.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain nursing standards aligned with ANA guidelines and organizational goals
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, evidence-based patient care across the continuum
- Serve as educator, mentor, and internal consultant to nursing leadership and staff
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, peer review processes, and regulatory readiness efforts
- Develop and oversee nursing quality management programs and strategic plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements
- Design and implement clinical practice models, including care coordination and discharge planning
- Drive standardization, benchmarking, and data-driven decision-making
- Lead interdisciplinary collaboration to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Build infrastructure supporting professional practice and clinical process redesign
- Develop tools, policies, and systems for practice standardization
- Lead initiatives that enhance care delivery across an integrated network
- Coach and mentor nursing leaders and clinical care teams
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Lead and manage cross-functional teams and strategic projects

Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 10 years of clinical nursing experience

- Quality improvement (CQI) methodologies
- Project and outcomes management
- Experience in case management preferred
- Background in large health systems or integrated care networks preferred
