Job overview and responsibilities
The Operations Communications team plays a vital role in keeping United’s frontline employees informed and engaged. As a Senior Digital Content Specialist, you will own the back-of-house infrastructure that keeps content moving across every channel. The role partners closely with Operations communicators and content creators to manage editorial workflows, orchestrate multi-channel distribution, and ensure every message reaches the right audience at the right time. The right communicator brings a system thinker’s mindset – someone who sees opportunities to streamline, automate and scale – while maintaining focus for channel-appropriate content.
- Channel distribution and orchestration:
- Manage and execute end-to-end content distribution across internal newsletters, intranet pages, electronic/digital screens and push notifications
- Editorial management and content adaptation:
- Manage the Operations Communications team in editorial workflow management
- Receive approved communications and adapt and reformat content for appropriate channel distribution
- Audience segmentation:
- Build and manage dynamic content within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (and equivalent platforms)
- Target audiencies using HR system and vendor data to ensure communications are relevant, personalized, and reaching the correct employee populations
- Distribution list management:
- Own and maintain all distribution lists in alignment with HR system data
- Ensure lists are current, segmented accurately and audited on a regular cadence
- Process automation and efficiency:
- Proactively identify manual, repetitive communications and distribution processes
- Research, propose and collaborate with appropriate teams to implement automation solutions that reduce effort and increase consistency
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in digital communications, content operations or marketing operations
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel digital content distribution
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or comparable marketing automation/CRM platform, including dynamic content and audience segmentation
- Familiarity with Adobe Workfront or similar work management platforms for editorial planning, project tracking and communications workflow management
- Ability to adapt and reformat content across channels while preserving message intent and brand voice
- Experience working under pressure and managing stakeholder reviews
- Experience managing and maintaining distribution lists using vendor and HR system data
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues
- Ability to make rational, realistic decisions using good reasoning and sound judgment
- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with a strong employee advocacy orientation
- Professional demeanor with excellent and timely follow-up with employees/business partners
- Must be self-motivated and have an enhanced ability to prioritize/plan in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Well organized with the strong ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to comfortably interact with all levels within the organization
- Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
- Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certification
- Preferred 3-5 years of professional exposure in a Communications and/or Marketing department
- Experience with digital signage platforms, like Appspace and Poppulo
- Familiarity with intranet platforms, like Sitecore, SharePoint and Staffbase
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email template editing
- Experience building or supporting automation workflows, like WorkPower Automate or native CRM automation
- Exposure to HR systems, like Peoplesoft, Workday or similar
- Familiarity with Canva or other graphic design tools
